Matt Cobalt Blue Glazed Bowl

This
stoneware bowl has been very well made ... it is one of my favourite pieces.
The
application of the matt glaze is new to me,
but excites me very much. So if anyone can tell me what kind of glaze this is
I will post the information here.
I have no information about this bowl.
At one stage I thought the mark might be a P ... in fact
it looks quite similar to Peter Lane's mark. But he informed me it is not one of his.
Other potters using a similar P mark are Peta Larsen, Trentham de Leliva, Dora Lunn, and Lee Wyatt Pope.
The added intrigue to this is that the mark can also look like a lower case A ... the only potters I know of
that use such a mark are Andrew Adair, Marilyn Andreetti, and Arthur Griffiths,
but I am not convinced that any of the above potters made this fine bowl.
And it should be noted that this is a beatifully thrown piece ... very light with the powdered cobalt gently washed all around,
a little on the outside - and much more on the inside ... which gives the bowl an amazing sense of depth.
I
will update this page as soon as I obtain more information
about this piece.
