Sculptural Form 'Sentinal' by Jon Bull

This stoneware sculptural form was made by Jon Bull at
his studio in Cardiff as part of a series of innovative works
inspired by chess pieces - this one is called "Sentinal".

This piece has been hand thrown, smoke fired and burnished. As well as
the usual effects created by smoke firing It also has great colour
variation. large patches of burnt orange with flashes of blue,red and
yellow add depth to the surface and make it totally unique.

Jon Bull began potting in 1995.
Then in 2004 his started up his own studio, Jon Bull Ceramics,
and now has his amazing work
being shown in a growing number of galleries throughout the UK.

His personal mark - a stylized pot, can be clearly seen near the base.
