Sculptural Lidded Form 'Ronin' by Jon Bull

This stoneware sculptural form was made by Jon Bull at
his studio in Cardiff as part of a series of innovative works
inspired by chess pieces - this one is called "Ronin".

This is a magnificent work - a lidded vessel with a wide base and stands on
three evenly spaced, detailed feet. It narrows towards the
top where there is a large detailed lid. The glazed surface
is a blend of aqua blue and white crackle.

Jon Bull began potting in 1995.
Then in 2004 his started up his own studio, Jon Bull Ceramics,
and now has his amazing work
being shown in a growing number of galleries throughout the UK.
I will be placing more of his exciting work on this site soon ...
so please call back.

His personal mark - a stylized pot, can just be seen at the base.
