Vintage Cruche for walnut oil

This stoneware cruche was made somewhere in the Charente-Maritime,
during the late 19th century.
This type of jug was typically used to store walnut oil,
the nuts of which grow in abundance throughout the region.
There is a tantalizing hint of a salt glaze near the rim,
and the dents made in the making only serve to enhance its charm.
Like most French country pottery this beautiful specimen is unmarked.
For an antique this is in almlost perfect condition - no scratches, chips,
or cracks.
