Small Studio Pottery Vase by David Leach

This small earthenware vase with fine sgraffito work was made by David Leach
most likely at his Lowerdown Pottery in Bovey Tracey, Devon.

David Leach, son of Bernard, has been potting since 1930, initially learning from his
father at the Leach Pottery in Cornwall. He also worked at Sandefjord Pottery in Norway,
The Friary pottery at Aylesford in Kent, Dartington Pottery, then he started up Lowerdown in 1956.

David Leach's personal mark can clearly be seen on the lower side of the pot "DL"

Condition: This is in excellent condition - with no chips, cracks, or scratches.
