Bowl with glazes by David Eeles

This stoneware bowl was made by David Eeles sometime between 1955-62
at Sheperds Well Pottery Hampstead, London.

David Eeles began his potting career at Willesden School of Arts and Crafts in 1947.
He began Sheperds Well Pottery in 1954 specializing in traditional slipware & tin glazed majolica,
fired to a temperature of 1100 degrees centigrade in an electric kiln.
The decoration was drawn with liquid clay slips, coloured with metallic oxides like iron,
manganese & copper. The colours achieved were predominantly warm in tone.

His personal mark - an intertwined"DE" is very clear, on the foot.

Condition: This set is in excellent condition - with no scratches, cracks, or chips.
