Large Stoneware Charger
by Ray Finch

This large stoneware charger, or teabowl, was made by Ray Finch
at Winchcombe Pottery.

A truly classical piece from the Master
and still he has looked to innovate with titanium and cobalt glazes.
His son, Michael, told me that Ray was tempted to fire it a further time with the idea of
deepening the tenmoku to almost black.

His personal mark, the Pottery mark plus his dot, can clearly be seen on the base.

This is in excellent condition - no scratches, chips, or cracks.
1.5 inches high/35mm high.
Widest diameter: just under 12.5 inches/315mm
.
