Studio pottery chawan by Xavier Maffre
This tenmoku chawan teabowl was made by Xavier Maffre at his pottery in Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, Charente, France in 2009.
He started potting in 1991, and then began to produce pieces inspired by the Gallo-Romans. Condition:
This is in excellent condition - no scratches, chips, or cracks. It
bears his incised distinctive personal mark on the base.

... hence this beautiful chawan.
Maffre now fires his works in his Gallo-Roman wood kiln, and his newly built (completed in 2005) anagama kiln.
