Waisted Vase by George Nash of
Marazion Pottery

This waisted vase was made at the Marazion Pottery
by George Nash.

The scratched and painted decoration was produced
by his wife, Heather Oates.
The couple ran the pottery from about 1950 until their retirement in 1981.

Sadly, they both died shortly afterwards.

The charcoal glaze and decorated pots were very popular with the local shops,
although they did experiment with other glazes and designs ... these pieces are very much sort after.

Most of the pots produced were quite small, so this larger vase is not so common.

Condition: This is in very good condition - no scratches, or cracks
apart from the tiny nibble on the reverse side, which can be seen in the photograph above.
Dimensions: just over 6.5 inches high/162mm high
Widest diameter just under 4.5 inches/11cm.

It bears the distinctive sgraffito mark "Marazion Pottery".
