Studio Pottery by Ursula Mommens

This covered pot was made by Ursula Mommens.
Ursula Mommens (nee Darwin) has quite a pedigree:
She is the great great grand-daughter of Josiah Wedgwood.
She is the great grand-daughter of Charles Darwin.
She was trained by William Staite Murray.
She worked with Michael Cardew at Wenford Bridge for six months in 1945.
She has been married to the artist Julian Trevelyan.
She was born in 1908 ... and is still potting today in Sussex.
Condition: This is in excellent condition - no scratches, chips, or cracks,
just some slight crazing which is hardly noticable.
Dimensions: 5.75inches high/145mm high
Widest diameter (excluding handle):just over 5.25 inches/135m.
Her distinctive mark here is the "DD" for Darwin (her maiden name),
and Durham Wharf. I believe, however, that this piece has been made within the last 25 years.
