Stoneware Pouring Bowl




This stoneware pouring bowl was probably made by a japanese potter.
Pouring bowls are used in the Japanese tea ceremony.
This particular bowl is marked underneath, but as yet no one
has been
able to tell me what is written. I presume that it is a name.
It has, however, been suggested that the mark could be a phrase such as
"Hand made by ....... "
This is in excellent condition - no scratches, chips, or cracks,
3.75 inches high/96mm high.
Widest diameter: 9.5 inches/235mm.
