Marianne de Trey Egg Cup

This domestic ware egg cup was made by Marianne de Trey in her small pottery
next to Dartington Pottery, Shiners Bridge in Devon.
Although she has been working there (and still is at 94!)since 1948
this piece was probably made in the 80's.
She was married to the potter Sam Haille until his untimely death in 1948.

Since 1983 when she "retired" she has been producing studio pieces
with the sole desire to produce that "ultimate pot".

The mark on the side is very clear - the shell - denoting a domestic piece.
